Wood Destroying Insects (WDI) Information

To perform Wood Destroying Pest (WDI) inspections in the State of Ohio a license is required. My license # is 91552. I am licensed to inspect for damage and prescence of WDI insects. I am not licensed to apply treatments, this would be a conflict of interest. WDI insects include Carpenter Ants, Termites, Powder Post Beetles, Carpenter Bees and Wood Destroying Fungus.

I recommend to all of my clients that preventive treatment is needed for all homes. There are a few products I have used and have had good success with.

Carpenter Ants
When carpenter ants are found within a structure, the colony is either nesting within the building or nesting outside the building and entering to forage for food. Houses near wooded areas are especially subject to invasion. Carpenter ants are usually found near moisture. ohioline.osu.edu/hyg-fact/2000/2063.html

Termites
Subterranean termites are one of the most potentially damaging insect pests of structure in the country.
